Μνημείο οι φωτογραφίες των 200 Ελλήνων στην Καισαριανή

Η συλλογή εικόνων που αποτυπώνει για πρώτη φορά τις τελευταίες στιγμές πριν την εκτέλεση 200 Ελλήνων στην Καισαριανή, την Πρωτομαγιά του 1944, έχει αναγνωριστεί ως μνημείο λόγω της ιστορικής της σημασίας.

Στη διάρκεια συνεδρίασης, αναφέρθηκε ότι «Γύρω στους 350 ανθρώπους εκτελέστηκαν στην Ελλάδα για τον θάνατο 4 Γερμανών», ενώ πολλές αφηγήσεις περιγράφουν «την αποφασιστικότητα και την ηρεμία» των κρατουμένων όταν άκουσαν τα ονόματά τους.

Αξιοσημείωτο είναι ότι από την προηγούμενη ημέρα της εκτέλεσής τους είχαν ετοιμάσει σημειώματα που πέταξαν στον δρόμο, ζητώντας από όποιον τα βρει να τα στείλει στις οικογένειές τους.Ορισμένα από αυτά τα συγκινητικά μηνύματα αντικατοπτρίζουν το «ήθος και τον πατριωτισμό των εκτελεσμένων». Τα μηνύματα που παρουσιάστηκαν στη συνεδρίαση περιλαμβάνουν:

• «Αγαπημένοι μου, ο θάνατός μου δε θα πρέπει να σας λυπήσει, αλλά να σας ατσαλώσει πιο πολύ. Σφίξτε τις καρδιές σας. Έτσι θα μας τιμήσετε καλύτερα. Με πολλή αγάπη.Μήτσος». Μήτσος Ρεμπούτσικας.
• «Για το παιδί και τη γυναίκα μου. Κατίνα, Γιωργούλη μου, σας φιλώ με αγάπη. Κώστας Τσίρκας. Δάσκαλος. Μάρνη 52».
• «Πατερούλη, πάω για εκτέλεση. Να είσαι υπερήφανος για τον μονάκριβο γιο σου. Ναπολέων Σουκατζίδης».
• «Η κόρη μου η Ρήνα να γίνει δασκάλα. Φιλώ τη γυναίκα μου και το παιδί. Βαγγέλης».
• «Έτσι πεθαίνουν οι άξιοι Έλληνες. Ζήτω η λευτεριά! Σπήλιος Αμπελογιάννης».
• «Ειδοποιείστε τη χήρα μητέρα μου Κατίνα Αναστασιάδου ότι πεθαίνω για την Ελλάδα μας». Λευτέρης Αναστασιάδης – Δικηγόρος

Είναι σημαντικό να σημειωθεί ότι ο Λευτέρης Αναστασιάδης ήταν ανάπηρος του αλβανικού μετώπου και χάραξε το μήνυμα στο ξύλινο πόδι του.

Mνημείο κηρύχθηκαν οι φωτογραφίες

The entire collection of photographs depicting the events in Καισαριανή has been declared a monument by the Ministry of Culture following a recommendation from the Central Council of Modern Monuments due to its notable historical value as evidence of shaping perceptions and attitudes through imagery by the propaganda mechanisms during the Occupation in greece.

The Ministry informs that these photographs appeared on the online auction site e-bay.de on Saturday February 14th. The alleged owner is collector Tim de Craene who specializes in memorabilia and artifacts from World War II through his company Crain’s Militaria which offered them for sale.
The appearance of these images on greek social media and later in news outlets sparked considerable interest from various parties.
On Monday morning February 16th, the collector withdrew twelve photographs from the auction site; however, he continues to sell his entire collection created by then Lieutenant Hermann Heuer who served at Malakasa camp during that time but was ordered to observe or assist—its unclear—in executing those prisoners transferred from Haidari camp to Kaisariani shooting range on May Day of ’44.
Heuer’s photo collection includes areas across occupied Europe (Belgium and France) where he served before it ended up with Tim de Craene.

The Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni stated:

“The twelve photos that have come to light depicting Greek patriots just before their execution at Kaisariani are extremely significant documents for modern Greek history.”

“These images give a ‘face’ to historical testimonies regarding their character and patriotism just moments before their execution; thus thay are invaluable.” She added: “Other photos also hold great significance as they allow us to frame the drama experienced by occupied Greece through an occupier’s viewpoint.”

“The propaganda mechanism established by Joseph Goebbels utilized cutting-edge details technology—film and photography—to create staged evidence of ‘success’ as tools for influence.”

“Once we were informed about this situation at our Ministry we provided relevant instructions for potentially acquiring these specific photographs,” she continued.
“the Directorate for Modern Cultural Heritage contacted him promptly while experts will visit him this Friday in Evergem Belgium to assess this collection firsthand and discuss with him.” With today’s declaration as a monument our Ministry gains leverage to claim it on behalf of the Greek state.”
