The interest rate is set at a fixed rate of three percent annually and remains unchanged for the entire duration of the arrangement. Its application does not depend on weather the debts are secured by collateral or othre specific guarantees or on the type of financial institution involved.
The implementation of this fixed interest rate becomes a mandatory term in the restructuring contract.
This means that currently the interest rate stands at three percent for initial years for debts with collateral and four percent for those without; thereafter it increases to a variable euribor plus additional percentages depending on whether there are guarantees or not.
- Your example hear:
Total Debt Amount: €100,000 over a repayment period of twenty years without applying any step-up mechanism; under current conditions monthly payments would be recalculated after thirty-six months based on remaining debt and new rates applicable to subsequent payments over two hundred four months.

The introduction of a stable interest rate at three percent throughout the restructuring period substantially reduces overall debt servicing costs.
Specifically speaking about an obligation amounting to one hundred thousand euros with a repayment duration spanning twenty years results in total savings approximating twenty thousand two hundred euros for secured claims and around twenty-eight thousand six hundred euros for unsecured claims.
2 . Increase in imposed fines by supervisory authority
With this second amendment we significantly raise penalties imposed on companies managing receivables in cases where violations occur as determined by supervisory authorities such as Bank Of Greece . Thus while today maximum fines stand at five hundred thousand euros , we now establish maximum penalties reaching five million (5 ,000 ,000 ) euro .
This approach makes it considerably more burdensome financially upon servicers who violate their obligations arising from regulatory frameworks as maximum fines have been increased tenfold.
