Μια «ανάσα» πριν από την ημέρα που οι Αμερικανοί θα κληθούν να ψηφίσουν στις ενδιάμεσες εκλογές, ο Τραμπ εξαπέλυσε σφοδρή επίθεση κατά των Δημοκρατικών στην τελευταία του ομιλία πριν από την εκλογική διαδικασία. Σήμερα, Δευτέρα (02/11), εγκαινίασε την Reflecting Pool, ένα έργο που υπήρξε αντικείμενο κακοτεχνιών και αλλαγών σχεδίων από τη στιγμή που ανακοινώθηκε η ανακαίνισή του.Αυτή είναι η μεγάλη τεχνητή λίμνη στην Ουάσινγκτον, όπου αντανακλώνται τα μνημεία του Τζορτζ Ουάσινγκτον και του Αβραάμ Λίνκολν. Κατά τη διάρκεια της ομιλίας του, ο πρόεδρος των ΗΠΑ δεν παρέλειψε να επιτεθεί στους πολιτικούς αντιπάλους του, χαρακτηρίζοντάς τους «ακραίους και επικίνδυνους υποψηφίους».

Μετά από περίπου 20 λεπτά αφιερωμένα στη λίμνη, ο Τραμπ στράφηκε στις ενδιάμεσες εκλογές. Δήλωσε ότι αυτές είναι «οι πιο κρίσιμες ενδιάμεσες εκλογές της ζωής μας», καθώς θεωρεί ότι οι υποψήφιοι των Δημοκρατικών είναι εξαιρετικά επικίνδυνοι λόγω της υποστήριξής τους σε τζιχαντιστές και άλλες ομάδες που δεν φαντάζεται κανείς.
Ο Τραμπ επεσήμανε ότι αυτοί οι υποψήφιοι προωθούν αποτρόπαιες πολιτικές σχετικά με το μεταναστευτικό ζήτημα και τα δικαιώματα των τρανς ατόμων. «Θα προστατεύσουμε τη χώρα μας, τον πολιτισμό μας και την κληρονομιά μας για τις επόμενες γενιές», δήλωσε χαρακτηριστικά. «Περάσαμε 250 χρόνια για να κάνουμε αυτή τη χώρα σπουδαία· δεν θα αφήσουμε κάποιους αποτυχημένους τύπους από τους Δημοκρατικούς να την καταστρέψουν», πρόσθεσε.

Στη συνέχεια ανέφερε τα επιτεύγματά του λέγοντας ότι “έχουμε πλέον τη Γροιλανδία” , ευχαριστώντας παράλληλα τη Δανία και την Ευρώπη γι’ αυτό το γεγονός. Επίσης ισχυρίστηκε πως έχει εκπληρώσει όλες τις υποσχέσεις που είχε δώσει.

Aκόμη κατηγόρησε τους Δημοκρατικούς για προσπάθεια παραπλάνησης των ψηφοφόρων στην Αλάσκα μέσω ενός υποψηφίου με το όνομα Νταν Σάλιβαν, τον οποίο χαρακτήρισε «ψεύτικο», κάνοντας λόγο για «εκλογική απάτη». Συγκεκριμένα στο ψηφοδέλτιο περιλαμβάνεται ο Ντάνιελ Τζ. Σάλιβαν, ένας λιγότερο γνωστός υποψήφιος χωρίς κομματική στήριξη ενώ υπάρχει επίσης κι ένας Ρεπουμπλικανός γερουσιαστής με το ίδιο όνομα.
“Ανακοίνωση για τη λίμνη”
“Σήμερα ανακοινώνω ότι ανοίγει ξανά η λίμνη”, είπε αρχικά ο πρόεδρος μιλώντας για ένα “πολύ ιδιαίτερο μέρος” στο κέντρο της πρωτεύουσας των ΗΠΑ. Ανέφερε επίσης πως “σκεφτόμαστε σοβαρά να αλλάξουμε το όνομά της σε ‘Trump reflecting Pool’“, προσθέτοντας πως ήταν απλά αστείο.
«Θα το ανακοινώσουμε κάποια στιγμή αύριο… είμαι βέβαιος ότι θα διασκεδάσει πολύ όταν το πει αυτό στον κόσμο», είπε γελώντας.

The president claimed from the outset that the “pool never worked properly”, adding that it had been plagued by issues such as leaks and algae growth over generations.
He criticized his predecessors Barack Obama and Joe Biden for spending significant amounts without resolving these problems while claiming that today it is a “work of art”.
“Over the past months I’ve been involved with this issue; we did great work,” he saeid while explaining how they tackled vandalism issues as well as reducing crime rates in Washington significantly during his tenure.
Regarding costs he emphasized how little was spent compared to previous administrations while showcasing renovation photos during his speech.

Straightforwardly stated in his speech was Trump’s assertion regarding Washington’s change from one of America’s most dangerous cities into one of its safest places.
“Perhaps our greatest achievement is crime reduction which has dropped nearly by ninety percent.” He added confidently stating “it will reach close to one hundred percent.” Though no specific data or evidence were provided backing up these claims.

During this address Trump attempted justifying military actions against Iran while leaving open possibilities for negotiations with Tehran stating “the world would be entirely different” if Iran acquired nuclear weapons.
He claimed Iran currently faces its highest inflation rate in fifteen years compared with any other nation which according him pushes them towards seeking agreements with US saying “‘They want a deal’“. He further mentioned such an agreement could become reality.
At same time he insisted on previous US operations having severely impacted Tehran’s nuclear program stating: "We stopped this last year using those majestic B-52 bombers hitting every target dropping hundreds tons rocks over everything".
