Δυστύχημα Learjet 60 στη Φλόριντα: Θύματα και λεπτομέρειες

Οι γονείς των θυμάτων επιβεβαίωσαν τις ταυτότητές τους μέσω δηλώσεων στην εφημερίδα «The Palm Beach Post» τη Δευτέρα, 2 Νοεμβρίου. «Είναι ένα τεράστιο πλήγμα», δήλωσε ο πατέρας του Άνταμ Ρόμπινσον λίγη ώρα μετά την ανάρτησή του στο LinkedIn από το Τέξας. «Η κόρη μας, ο σύζυγός της και τα δύο εγγόνια μας βρίσκονταν μέσα στο αεροπλάνο». Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες από το ίδιο Μέσο, οι θύτες ήταν επιχειρηματίες που ταξίδευαν μαζί με τη νταντά των παιδιών και δύο φίλους.

Απότομη πτώση του τζετ

Σύμφωνα με τον εκπρόσωπο της NTSB Τομ Τσάπμαν υπάρχουν ενδείξεις ότι το αεροσκάφος παρουσίασε διάλυση τμημάτων πριν την πρόσκρουση. Η ξαφνική κάθοδος φαίνεται να ξεκίνησε λιγότερο από μισό λεπτό μετά την έκδοση σήματος κινδύνου από το πλήρωμα ενώ οι πληροφορίες πτήσης δείχνουν εξαιρετικά υψηλή ταχύτητα απώλειας ύψους.

Το Learjet είχε απογειωθεί από το Όστιν για τις Μπαχάμες όταν πάνω από την περιοχή Γκρίνακρες της Φλόριντας αντιμετώπισε ισχυρές αναταράξεις καθώς επίσης βροχή και σχηματισμό πάγου όπως ανέφερε το πλήρωμα στους ελεγκτές εναέριας κυκλοφορίας.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash of a Learjet in Palm Beach County on November 1st and advises anyone with information to contact them directly.

Dramatic cockpit communications before crash

The audio dialog reveals that a female crew member initially reports challenging weather conditions aboard the aircraft. Moments later the situation worsens as she states: “We are losing altitude at a rate of eight thousand feet per minute.” The urgency escalates with “Mayday! Mayday! We’re descending ten thousand feet per minute.” As panic sets in she adds: “We’ve exceeded speed limits; we’re going down at twenty thousand feet per minute.” Just before contact is lost from the cockpit comes an alarming message: “We’re descending at twenty-two thousand feet; we’ve banked sixty degrees… Look outside.” The last words heard are chillingly desperate: “Damn it! We don’t have time!”

Difficulties in debris recovery

The wreckage of the LearJet has been scattered over a wide area including residential neighborhoods and businesses and also baseball fields making recovery efforts challenging for investigators who must retrieve key components from where they landed after impact on roadways below.
A nearby motorist reportedly sustained injuries during this incident while around twenty investigators are currently involved in operations alongside representatives from both NTSB and FAA along with meteorologists and aviation specialists to piece together what happened during this tragic event.
