Ανασκόπηση Τιμών Χρυσού: Ήπια Άνοδος Μετά Από Απότομη Πτώση
Ο χρυσός παρουσίασε μια ήπια αύξηση την Τετάρτη (22/10), ακολουθώντας την απότομη πτώση που σημειώθηκε την προηγούμενη ημέρα, όταν η τιμή του «βούτηξε» πάνω από 5%. Σύμφωνα με το CNN, ο χρυσός παραμένει ένα παραδοσιακό επενδυτικό καταφύγιο σε περιόδους αβεβαιότητας. Η πτώση της τιμής του προήλθε από τις ρευστοποιήσεις κερδών των επενδυτών μετά από ένα εντυπωσιακό ράλι, ενώ οι αξιωματούχοι των ΗΠΑ και της Κίνας αναμένονται να συναντηθούν ξανά για νέες εμπορικές συνομιλίες. Συγκεκριμένα, την Τετάρτη (22/10), η τιμή του χρυσού διαμορφώθηκε στα 4.141,48 δολάρια ανά ουγγιά, σημειώνοντας άνοδο μικρότερη του 0,4%.

Η Μεγαλύτερη Πτώση Από Το 2013
Είναι σημαντικό να σημειωθεί ότι την Τρίτη (21/10), ο χρυσός υποχώρησε έως και κατά 6,3%, φθάνοντας τα 4.082,03 δολάρια ανά ουγγιά μία ημέρα μετά το ιστορικό υψηλό των 4.381,21 δολαρίων.
Τα συμβόλαια μελλοντικής εκπλήρωσης για τον χρυσό στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες έκλεισαν με πτώση κατά 5,7%,στα επίπεδα των 4.087,70 δολαρίων – καταγράφοντας τη μεγαλύτερη ημερήσια ποσοστιαία πτώση από τον Απρίλιο του ’13. Παράλληλα με τον χρυσό υποχώρησαν και άλλα πολύτιμα μέταλλα όπως το ασήμι (-7%) και η πλατίνα (-5%).

Analysts believe that the pressure on prices is due to profit-taking after weeks of intense buying that pushed gold to historic highs. The precious metal has shown remarkable resilience in its performance throughout the year as it has surged over by more than half since January alone—surpassing even periods of significant turmoil such as September eleventh and the financial crisis of ’08.
Moreso in just two months alone gold prices have risen by approximately twenty-five percent fueled by rising U.S public debt levels along with political uncertainty and expectations for further interest rate cuts from the Federal Reserve.

The optimism surrounding a potential easing of trade tensions between Washington and Beijing coupled with a rebound in the dollar prompted many investors to lock in their profits. Despite renewed tensions between these two major economies recently their trade representatives are expected to meet this week ahead of an anticipated meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his American counterpart Donald Trump next week.
The day before on Monday (20/10) Trump stated: “I believe we will probably come up with a very fair deal with President Xi of China; I think we will end up with something good.”
Additonally analysts point out that the conclusion of diwali festivities in India—the second largest gold market globally—has diminished physical demand contributing further to price declines.
