Κλείσιμο Λυκαβηττού και Υποστήριξη Πολιτών λόγω Καύσωνα
Από σήμερα τα μεσάνυχτα, ο λόφος του Λυκαβηττού θα παραμείνει κλειστός για κάθε δραστηριότητα μέχρι νεωτέρας, εξαιτίας του αυξημένου κινδύνου πυρκαγιάς και των ισχυρών ανέμων. Ο Δήμος Αθηναίων ανακοίνωσε ότι όλες οι υπηρεσίες του βρίσκονται σε κατάσταση αυξημένης ετοιμότητας λόγω των υψηλών θερμοκρασιών.
Οι επτά Λέσχες Φιλίας του Δήμου θα λειτουργούν καθημερινά από τις 9 το πρωί έως τις 9 το βράδυ ως κλιματιζόμενοι χώροι για τους πολίτες. Οι διευθύνσεις τους είναι οι εξής:

Additionally, for medical advice and guidance regarding health issues due to high temperatures, the “Heatwave Line” of the Municipal Polydynamic Clinics is available at “2103638049”, operating daily from “8:30 a.m.” to “7:30 p.m.”.
Basing on its Civil Protection plan, the Municipality of athens has already formed standby teams from its Cleaning and Green Services departments. The Municipal Police are on heightened alert with patrols deployed while drones are being utilized for monitoring hills and areas with increased fire risk.
The thermal camera system is actively surveying large green spaces in downtown athens for temperature fluctuations while municipal water trucks remain ready for action.
The Operations Center of the Municipal Police operates around-the-clock to assist Fire Services and other municipalities as needed.
Mental Health Support for Homeless Individuals during Heatwaves
The Streetwork teams from the City of Athens’ Reception and Solidarity Center (K.Y.A.D.A.) are active from “8 a.m.” until “11 p.m.”, providing essential items such as cool water bottles, beverages, snacks, and protection kits containing basic necessities.
Caring for Stray Animals
The Urban Wildlife department has installed over one hundred new drinking stations across neighborhoods in Athens for stray animals during this heatwave period; citizens are encouraged to keep these filled with fresh water.
A Call to Citizens Regarding Waste Disposal
Due to extremely high temperatures and in consideration of hygiene and safety measures, residents and businesses are urged not to dispose of their waste between “11 a.m.” and “6 p.m.” We appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation in preventing disruptions within our city while ensuring public health safety during extreme heat conditions.
