Πίσω από τα κάγκελα της φυλακής οδηγείται ο 27χρονος κατηγορούμενος για το φρικτό έγκλημα στην Ηγουμενίτσα, με θύμα την 25χρονη Πηνελόπη, καθώς οι δικαστικές αρχές αποφάσισαν την προφυλάκισή του αμέσως μετά την ολοκλήρωση της απολογίας του.
Η διαδικασία αυτή προχώρησε αφού πρώτα χρειάστηκε να διοριστεί νομικός εκπρόσωπος, δεδομένου ότι είχαν προηγηθεί διαδοχικές αρνήσεις από δικηγόρους να αναλάβουν την υπεράσπισή του.
Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες από το thespro.gr, η ανακριτική διαδικασία ολοκληρώθηκε με απόλυτη συμφωνία μεταξύ του ανακριτή και του εισαγγελέα που χειρίστηκε την υπόθεση.

The forensic expert and head of the Epirus Service, Ioannis Aivatidis, stated that the young woman sustained two injuries to her neck area, along with additional stabs to her right arm and shin. Particularly shocking is that seven of these wounds were located on the back side of her body, indicating she was attacked from behind.
The brutality of the assailant is evident in three specific stab wounds where the blade of a knife—approximately 7.5 centimeters long—penetrated deeply into the victim’s body. The death of the young woman occurred rapidly due to a severe loss of blood and rupture of major vessels in her neck..Moreover, serious damage was recorded in her left lung, liver, and stomach by the forensic report.
Pivotal moments leading to tragedy
The evening before Sunday at around 21:44, the 27-year-old called emergency services claiming falsely: “we have been stabbed by two people; four unknown individuals.” Though, police had already received a call five minutes earlier (21:39) regarding a young woman lying unconscious on the ground. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found him injured but initially unable to specify where he had been during his call for help.
A subsequent investigation led to finding a knife that he attempted to dispose of while fleeing from the murder scene in an effort to erase any evidence. It became clear that this weapon was used in taking Penelope’s life following an intense altercation between them.
The arrested individual was first taken to TEP in Igoumenitsa and then transferred to General Hospital Filiaτών with a deep injury in his left lung resulting from an attempted suicide; however his life is not at risk now .
